Welcome to Lulu and Jazz Children’s Bookshop. We are so excited that you dropped by.
Hi! We are twin sisters, both parents of delightful children and of course our beloved fur babies, Lulu and Jazz. Lulu has an irrepressible amount of energy and excitement about life while Jazz would much prefer to be curled up asleep when she isn’t snuggling up to her human siblings. Both are very excited to have a bookshop named after them. Honest!
We have always loved reading and have endeavoured to pass this on to our own children and as teachers to our students. We both, really, really love books. Books are truly amazing, and you can never have too many. We want to share our passion with you!
Our vision
At Lulu and Jazz, our desire is to provide a range of books for children and young adults that celebrate the diversity in our communities. Stories help make our lives richer. When we listen to other people’s stories, sometimes we can see ourselves, and that helps us to feel seen, valued and respected and to know we are not alone. Other times, we can be inspired by people who are very different from us; learning to understand people better and see new ways of viewing the world.
Some people’s experiences seem to be shared more than others’ stories, while some hardly get heard at all. We want to help you to celebrate and be empowered by a wide range of different voices that reflect the diverse range of people in our society. We want you to be able to connect with others and to explore issues and concerns that different people face.
